Thira Santorini Greece was inspired whilst holidaying in Santorini, myself and my daughter took a local bus one evening in to Thira, the capital. What a beautiful and atmospheric town, very vibrant. I took photographs at the top of the town overlooking the Caldero, the volcanic crater that lies flooded beneath the dramatic cliffs. This piece is the result of one of those shots, capturing the sunset over the Caldero on such a special evening. The pastel shades of the wool I used for the houses really complements the scene and are echoed in the sky. The bright blue of the sea and roof domes stand out while the church bell literally stands out in three dimensions overlooking the scene. I am so glad I got to capture this popular viewpoint, it was one of the highlights of my holiday in Santorini with spectacular sunsets that can never be forgotten, what a memory in felt.
