Flowering under Grecian skies was an inspiration after taking a coach trip with my daughter to inland villages. We wanted to see an authentic side of Greek life, small villages with few houses but always a church serving the community however small. It illustrates a slow paced life where villagers live in harmony with natura and each other, self sufficient growing all manner of produce. It was great to see this way of life in comparison to coastal lifestyle where they were much more geared to tourism, perhaps losing their own identity in fulfilling this role. This beautiful village scene explores the peace and quiet of past times, serene and contented lifestyles. The colourful shrubs are vibrant against the stark whitewashed walls and the blue plant pot echoes the shades in the sky, the roof top and the painted furniture. I loved having a go at felting the crazy paving, that was fun and freeing, a perfectly serene scene captured.
