Product Description
Fishing boats Samos island Greece was inspired by a walk along the harbour side. When I stopped to take in the entire scene, I noticed the small fishing boat anchored in the mid ground with various craft in the distance. In the background are the mountains and a pale stretch of secluded sandy beach. It was a dreamy hot August day in Samos, this typical Greek scene touched me so much for its simplicity and calm, that I knew I had to create a painting in wool when I arrived home back in the studio. It is a nod to that easy way of life, quiet and peaceful, taking time over food and conversation. The views and backdrops all over the island were awe inspiring, so unspoilt and natural, ancient ruins on the shoreline. There was an amazing museum in Pythagoria, the birthplace of Pythagoras housing locally discovered artifacts. It was a wonderful holiday on a lesser known island, such a great memory to have in a needle felted picture. Fishing boats Samos island measures 50cm x 50cm framed, the actual felted area is 29cm x 29cm.
