Another experimental needle felted sculpture of a bird in a teacup. I had great fun felting this joyful scene, echoing the designs on the cup and saucer. Firstly I felted the tree and its branches, adding on varying shades of coloured wool. Then felted the foliage and flowers which give it a spring like appeal, bright vibrant colours bring the tree to life. Last piece of felting was the pretty little bird from the teacup design, I followed this carefully to create a lifelike exotic bird sitting in a tree surveying the land. I am pleased with the outcome, it is a rather cheery little sculpture that would add a feeling of joy to any room. The needle felted sculpture of a bird in a teacup measures 30cm x 26cm x 14cm, and would sit happily on a window ledge or as a table centrepiece, inspiring conversation.
