Railay beach with canoe is a smaller piece that was inspired by my day on the beach at Railay island near Krabi in Thailand. I sat on this incredible beach on Railay island in Thailand with my daughter, admiring the grandeur of the cliffs. Their was a handful of tourists around as it was still early days opening up after lockdown so the tourist spots were luckily not so busy. We walked around the island in the morning grabbing snacks and drinks from different places, saw the caves and overgrown jungle areasand decided to spend the afternoon on the beach chilling. There was a lone canoeist in the water and a smattering of holidaymakers swimming , some small c Thai children enjoying the calm, clear and shallow waters. This scene is what inspired this piece, I was keen to capture that moment in this needle felted piece, Railay beach with canoe measures 26cm x 21cm framed, the actual felted area is 18cm x 12cm.
