Product Description

I was camping alone on the Lleyn, close to Aberdaran, spending my time walking the coastal pathways and coves. It took me back to my childhood solitary wanderings in nature. I took this photograph at Porth Meudwy which translates as Hermit’s Cove. I can understand why, so serene and peaceful, the departure point for boat trips to Bardsey Island. A place of pilgramage. St Cadfan began building a monastery on the island in the sixth century. I felt the mystery of this serene beach, where the spiritual seekers boarded the boat for Bardsey, the island of 1000 saints. I sat quietly contemplating, just the lapping of the waves for company.
